Quality of Windows and Installation
APCO's Pro Exterior division provided a mixed experience for John Weinhardt, who purchased seven Marvin Ultimate wood double-hung windows for his home. While the windows themselves are high-quality and attractive, the screens were subpar, with some being warped and not fitting flush with the window sill. However, John was pleased with the sales process, which was painless and pleasant.
Installation Issues and Chemical Odor
The installation process was also marred by a few issues. The installers were courteous and seemed competent, but they were subcontractors, which caught John by surprise. Furthermore, John and his wife experienced a strong chemical odor emanating from the windows, which caused headaches, nausea, and lung irritation. Although the odor eventually dissipated after a week, John was never given a straight answer about the source of the smell.
Comparison to Other Companies
John noted that his neighbors, who had windows installed by other companies, did not experience any issues with irritating fumes. This led John to question APCO's practices and why they do not seem to follow the same protocols as other companies.
Other Feedback
Nora Nirvana had a positive experience with APCO, rating their work on her roof as "fantastic." The installation was quick and the yard was cleaned after completion.
Ashley T. had a more neutral experience, rating APCO's work as "ok." While the installers were friendly, the salesman forgot their first appointment, and they continued to find dangerous strips of metal in their yard months after the work was completed.
