Our story begins with our founder, Ona Love Bolyard, who started his business in 1937 by buying concrete formed lumber from the construction site of the Sears department store in Highland Park, Michigan. With hard work and persistence, Ona turned his dream into reality, opening the first Bolyard Lumber storefront in Hazel Park, offering lumber, paint, hardware, windows, and trim. Today, we are in our fourth generation of family ownership, with Jake Bolyard leading the way.
